Wash-Unit Operator (Mechanical) — Wildfire Season, $400–$600/Day

Oregon Weed Wash LLC operates mobile weed-wash decontamination units on federal wildfire incidents. Each unit is a pump-and-generator wash rig you run and keep running in the field — equipment coming off the fireline gets washed so invasive seed does not travel.

This fits someone mechanically inclined who is comfortable with basic field repair.

Fixed 1099 pay, each person on their own check:

• You drive a qualifying full-size pickup: $600/day
• Second operator: $400/day
• No truck — we pair you: $400/day

Plan on about 12-hour shifts, 14 days on and 2 off. Callouts fall within 200–300 miles and you can decline any. Camp covers tent space, three meals, showers, and laundry. We provide the unit, the equipment, and a prepaid fuel card for the pump and generator; your truck's fuel is yours.

Requirements: 18 or older, valid license, current registration and insurance, basic mechanical ability, and English. Heavy equipment, logging, ag, or construction experience all transfer. Fire experience is a plus.

We pay you via direct deposit same day that we receive payment. The government says they take 4-6 weeks to process payment, but it often takes about 3 weeks. We ask for interim payment after first two weeks of work and every two weeks thereafter. You will likely see your first payment after about 5-6 weeks of starting work. Checks will come in every two weeks after that until you are fully paid, which will be about 5-6 weeks after your last day of work.
