Miller Sales & Engineering is seeking a skilled Pump Mechanic to join our Operations team in Tucson, AZ. This role is responsible for the inspection, repair, rebuild, and testing of industrial pumps. The ideal candidate takes pride in quality workmanship, safety, and teamwork.

Position Summary
The Pump Mechanic performs accurate, safe, and OEM compliant repair work on a wide range of industrial pumps. This position supports repairs on centrifugal, slurry, and specialty pumps as required. The role reports to the Pump Repair Supervisor and may occasionally assist with field service work.

Key Responsibilities
Pump Repair & Rebuild
- Inspect, disassemble, repair, and reassemble industrial pumps
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues involving bearings, seals, impellers, shafts, motors, and wear components
- Measure and verify tolerances, clearances, and alignment during reassembly
- Replace or refurbish components per OEM specifications
- Assist with pump testing, performance checks, and functional verification
- Verify motor insulation, electrical continuity, and proper operation
- Document repair work, test results, and parts used
- Identify root causes of pump failures and communicate findings to supervision
- Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements
- Safely operate lifting devices, cranes, and test equipment
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Report safety hazards, incidents, or near misses immediately
- Work closely with the Pump Repair Supervisor and fellow mechanics
- Communicate repair issues, delays, or scope changes promptly
- Participate in OEM training and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support field or on site work when required
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years of industrial pump repair or rotating equipment maintenance experience
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, drawings, and repair procedures
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Experience with municipal, mining, water works, or industrial pump applications
- Electrical troubleshooting experience related to pump motors
- OEM training or certifications
- Forklift, crane, or rigging experience
