Welder - Fabricator

HardRock Infrastructure is currently looking for an experienced Pipe Stick Welder with TIG experience to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a solid background in welding and fabrication, with a specialization in pipe welding using stick welding techniques. This position will work out of fabrication shop in the Elmendorf area.

Weld Test Certification is required.

Description:

• Perform SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) on various types of pipes, MUST be able to pass the pipe weld test.
• Read and interpret welding blueprints and specifications
• Set up welding equipment and select proper welding techniques
• Ensure proper fit-up and alignment of pipes before welding
• Monitor welding process and adjust as needed
• Inspect welded joints for quality and accuracy
• Follow safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Work effectively as part of a team to complete projects on time
• Communicate with supervisors and coworkers to coordinate tasks and ensure project requirements are met.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a formal welding training program or apprenticeship.
• Proficiency in SMAW techniques and procedures, including vertical and overhead welding.
• Ability to read and interpret welding blueprints and specifications.
• Knowledge of welding safety practices and procedures.
• Physical strength and dexterity to work in various positions and environments.
• Certification in SMAW welding from a recognized organization, such as the American Welding Society (AWS) or the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).
• Experience working with pipe materials, such as carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy metals.
• Strong attention to detail and quality control to ensure precise and accurate welds.
