Xigma Engineering & Fabrication in Lincoln Park, MI has IMMEDIATE full time day shift positions for Reliable and Dependable Experienced Fabrication Welders.

Xigma is an established metal fabricator in the Metro-Detroit Area. Welding knowledge and experience will be a consideration of starting pay.

Punctual and Reliable - able to make it to work ON TIME every day and SHOW UP every day
Ability & Willingness to perform ANY and ALL activities required such as Saw, Punch, Drill, Paint, Cleanup etc

Common Job Tasks

Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.

Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits.
Examine workpieces for defects and measure workpieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.
Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment.
Weld separately or in combination, using aluminum, stainless steel, cast iron, and other alloys.
Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding.
Select and install torches, torch tips, filler rods, and flux, according to welding chart specifications or types and thicknesses of metals.
Connect and adjust regulator valves to activate and adjust gas flow and pressure so that desired flames are obtained.
Determine required equipment and welding methods, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques.
Monitor the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of material.
Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments, using processes such as gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, flux-cored arc, plasma arc, shielded metal arc, resistance welding, and submerged arc welding.

Qualifications & Experience Include:

Experience with Arc, Mig, and Flux Core Welding.

Ability to operate shop equipment such as torches, drills, plasma cutters, saws, and shears.
Forklift certificate and/or experience
Must be able to work overtime as needed
Must be able to work on one’s feet for an entire shift, and lift 50 pounds or more on a consistent basis.
Must be a Team Player that works well with others and is willing to perform other tasks necessary for fabrication such as Painting, Cutting, Clean-up etc.
