Welder/Fabricator Needed

Atlantic Building Supply has offered structural steel deliveries and onsite welding and fabrication services to residential home builders in the Washington D.C. Metro and surrounding areas for over 30 years. Atlantic is seeking an experienced welder/fabricator to travel to residential construction sites to weld steel beams, shim plates and columns supplied by Atlantic as well as perform custom fabrication and welding for more complicated structural members of a home.

What You'll Do:

Travel to and from job sites using the company welding truck to perform welding and fabrication services
Work alongside a steel yard crew to prep steel deliveries
Work alongside framers to fabricate structural members onsite per plan details
Maintain company vehicles, tools and shop equipment
Read and decipher plans and details for correct assembly
Communicate with the office to provide updates of jobs and materials needed
Occasional steel deliveries while driving a Flat Bed truck

Skills Desired:
2 year+ fabrication and welding experience, preferably stick welding
Ability to read and decipher blueprints
Proficiency with hand tools and power tools
Knowledge on correct use of PPE

Requirements:

Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
Dependable attendance
Excellent time management
Ability to work well and communicate with managers and supervisors as well as fellow employees
Ability to work in areas exposed to constant loud noises and temperature climate of Virginia
Ability to lift 75+ lbs.
