Description

We are currently seeking a full-time kitchen consultant for Grand Rapids and Southwestern Michigan. This position plays a key role in the kitchen remodeling program. The consultant is the interface between the homeowner and the design team and is integral to helping our homeowners realize the new kitchen dreams.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, personable, sales-driven, and passionate about helping customers create beautiful spaces.
This role combines accurate measuring skills, some design consultation, business development, and customer relationship management. Success in this position requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to build lasting relationships with both customers and industry partners.
Job Summary:
This role is responsible for accurately measuring client spaces and helping managing client expectations. A job packet of measurements, photos, jobsite notes and worksheets is created and forwarded to our design partners. Thoroughness and detail sensibilities are essential.
A successful candidate will be able to establish a rapport with the client and make a return visit to verify the design and assure fit and function. At this point, a detailed labor bid will be prepared by the candidate using proprietary pricing guidelines. The candidate will need to assist in the closing of the sale for the client along with the design team.
Responsibilities:

  • Be available Monday through Friday at 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to meet with clients at their project sites
  • Take accurate measurements of the existing spaces
  • Document jobsite features with photographs
  • Fill out jobsite worksheet for site information
  • Complete a preliminary installation estimate worksheet
  • Submit all gathered information to our coordinating and design teams
  • Return to project site for a verification visit
  • Assist client in determining labor needs and prepare a detailed labor bid
  • Provide and review labor bid with design team and assist with the close as needed
Skills, Abilities, and Requirements:
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Reliable Transportation
  • Familiar with 2020 design software V12 or higher
  • Accuracy with a tape measure
  • Organizational skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite products
  • Comfort in discussing project budgets, pricing, and closing sales
  • Knowledge of residential remodeling products and construction practices preferred
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and high self-motivation for success
Compensation:
- This is a 1099 contract position predicated on commission sales of remodeling projects. It rewards dedication accuracy and selling technique. The initial and the verification visits each pay a small fee with the bulk of the compensation based on commission. Prior sales history would suggest annual income between $78,000 and $95,000 per year.
