Wood Door Tech - Commercial

Job Overview

Business at our Phoenix TCH SOUTHWEST location is continually increasing and we need a skilled wood fabricator to operate a variety of machines for our commercial, custom and specialty doors. (Pay based on experience).

Job Duties:

• Proficient in the preparation, processing, and handling of commercial wood doors and frames
• Knowledge of Norfield Door machine
• Machine doors for commercial hardware from templates
• Restile and re-rail doors; lite cut outs
• Capable of safely lifting, maneuvering, and positioning solid wood doors (up to 75+ lbs)
• Ability to cross-train in other work areas
• Ability to work independently and prioritize wood door shop orders
• Pull completed product to ship customer orders or transfer to other TCH locations

Skills and Requirements

• Able to accurately read and interpret a tape measure or ruler and figure fractions
• Basic identification of wood species
• Basic understanding of door and frame components
• Safe operation of various shop tools (chops saws, radio arm saws and grinders, planer sander, etc.)
• Basic understanding of shop orders and sales orders, follow instructions
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented and eager to learn new skills
• Able to communicate clearly, effectively and courteously with your team
• Cognitive skills, including problem analysis, decision making and comprehension
• Forklift certification or willingness to be certified
• Pre-employment physical and drug screen

Working Conditions
Manufacturing/warehouse environment with constant exposure to machine noise and wood dust; periodic exposure to glue/adhesives. All day on your feet including bending, squatting, kneeling.

• Trim carpentry: 3 years (Required)
