Woodshop Instructor Wanted — Summer on Bear Lake (Waterford, Maine)

Camp Wigwam for Boys, a traditional overnight camp on beautiful Bear Lake, is looking for a Woodshop Instructor to join us for the summer. We've been making sawdust and memories since 1910, and we need someone to keep the band saws humming and the bird houses flying off the bench.

The gig is simple and a whole lot of fun. You'll teach campers the basics of carpentry and woodworking, from their first square cut to projects they'll proudly haul home at the end of the session. No need to be a master craftsman. If you know your way around a shop, can keep things safe, and genuinely enjoy helping kids build stuff, you're our person.

A few things we're after:

Patience with children is a must. These guys are eager, curious, and occasionally measure twice and cut never. That's the job, and it's the best part.

Good pep is required. Summer camp on a lake runs on energy, and we like ours zippy and warm. If you bring the fun, the kids will follow.

The schedule is flexible. We run morning and afternoon shifts of roughly three hours each, and we'll work with you on which days fit best.

Now for the perks. Meals are included, and honestly the food up here is the real signing bonus. Lakefront views, a tight-knit staff community, and a summer you'll be telling stories about for years. Compensation is competitive and we're happy to talk specifics directly.

The serious stuff, because it matters. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and legally eligible to work in the US. A background check is required for all camp staff. As an American Camp Association affiliated camp, we follow all state of Maine youth camp regulations and child safety standards. We are an equal opportunity employer.
