Woodworking shop helper — Brooklyn Navy Yard

Karol Cylwik Furniture and Millwork is looking for a full-time shop helper to join our small team building high-end custom furniture and architectural millwork.

We’re looking for someone who enjoys hands-on work, pays attention to details, and wants to develop a long-term career in woodworking. Some woodworking or related hands-on experience is required, along with a willingness to learn and take direction.

The work includes:

• Helping with glue-ups, assembly, and edge banding.
• Sanding and preparing pieces for finishing.
• Packing and carefully handling finished furniture and cabinetry.
• Keeping tools, materials, and the shop organized.
• Assisting our cabinet and furniture makers with daily production.

You should be reliable, punctual, comfortable with basic tools, and able to follow instructions and communicate clearly in English. Careful work matters—from checking measurements to noticing a scratch before a piece is packed.

You’ll work alongside experienced makers and have the opportunity to take on more skilled tasks as your abilities develop.
