Reporting Location: Rockville, Maryland — employees meet at the construction yard each morning and travel to assigned job sites.

Pay: $30–$35 per hour, based on experience

Position Overview

JMR Concrete Construction is seeking an experienced and dependable Working Concrete Foreman to lead and work alongside a concrete crew on projects in and around Rockville, Maryland. This is a hands-on leadership role for a skilled concrete professional who can manage daily crew activities while performing high-quality concrete work in the field.
The successful candidate will be safety-focused, organized, able to read plans, understand grades and slopes, and capable of keeping work on schedule without sacrificing craftsmanship.

Responsibilities

• Lead and work alongside a concrete crew on daily job-site activities.
• Coordinate crew assignments, materials, equipment, and daily workflow.
• Read and interpret blueprints, site plans, elevations, and project specifications.
• Perform hands-on concrete work, including:
• Forming and stripping forms
• Installing rebar, wire mesh, and embeds
• Pouring, screeding, floating, troweling, and finishing concrete
• Cutting control joints and applying curing materials
• Verify proper layout, grade, dimensions, and finish quality.
• Coordinate concrete deliveries, pump trucks, equipment, and subcontractors.
• Maintain a clean, organized, productive job site.
• Enforce company safety policies and proper use of personal protective equipment.
• Communicate daily progress, material needs, staffing needs, and job-site issues to management.
• Train and guide crew members in safe, efficient, high-quality concrete practices.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of concrete construction experience.
• Previous experience as a foreman, lead, or crew supervisor.
• Strong knowledge of concrete forming, reinforcing, placement, finishing, curing, and repair.
• Ability to read blueprints and use layout and measuring tools.
• Proven ability to lead a crew and keep projects moving according to schedule.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, and professionalism.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift up to 50–75 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience on commercial, residential, industrial, or civil concrete projects.
• Experience operating construction equipment such as skid steers, concrete saws, and laser levels.
• Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills.
