Working Superintendent

About us:

Jamison Construction is a growing General Contractor specializing in residential remodels, commercial construction, HOA projects, and custom residential work throughout Orange County. We are looking for a hands-on Working Superintendent who leads by example, takes pride in quality craftsmanship, and can successfully manage projects from start to finish.
This is not a desk-only management position. We are looking for someone who is equally comfortable hanging doors, solving field issues, coordinating subcontractors, and communicating with clients.

Position Summary:

The Working Superintendent is responsible for overseeing daily field operations while actively performing finish carpentry and other skilled construction tasks as needed. This individual will ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and capable of running multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities:
*Manage residential and commercial construction projects from mobilization through completion.
*Read and interpret architectural and structural blueprints.
*Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and in-house crews.
*Perform hands-on finish carpentry, including:
Door installation and adjustment
Finish trim and moldings
Cabinet installation and adjustments
Punch-list completion
*Maintain project schedules and ensure milestones are achieved.
*Conduct quality control inspections throughout each phase of construction.
*Coordinate inspections with building departments.
*Order and track materials.
*Communicate daily with project management and office staff.
*Meet with homeowners, clients, architects, inspectors, and vendors.
*Identify field issues and implement practical solutions.
*Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites.
*Prepare daily job reports and progress updates.
*Assist with project closeout and warranty items.
*Generate and document change orders as project conditions require.
*Utilize computer software to document project progress and communicate with the office.

Required Qualifications:
*Minimum 5 years experience as a superintendent, lead carpenter, or foreman.
*Strong knowledge of residential construction methods and California building practices.
*Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
*Advanced finish carpentry skills.
*Experience hanging interior and exterior doors.
*Experience managing subcontractors.
*Excellent organizational skills.
*Ability to prioritize multiple projects.
*Strong problem-solving abilities.
*Professional communication with clients and team members.
*Computer proficiency including:
Microsoft Office
Email
PDF markups
Construction management software (Buildertrend, Procore, JobTread, or similar preferred)
*Experience preparing and documenting change orders.
*Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record.
*Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications:
*OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification
*CPR/First Aid Certification
*Experience with commercial Tenant Improvements and HOA projects
*Knowledge of California building codes
*Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus

Compensation & Benefits:
*$85,000–$105,000 annually, depending on experience and skill level
