Xactimate Estimator – Mitigation, Restoration & Reconstruction

American Restoration is seeking an experienced Xactimate Estimator to join our team in a full-time position.

We are looking for someone who is highly proficient in preparing accurate and detailed Xactimate estimates for:

Water mitigation

Mold remediation
Fire and smoke damage
Contents cleaning
Demolition
Residential and commercial reconstruction and remodel

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of insurance restoration estimating and the documentation required to support each scope of work.

Responsibilities

Write complete and accurate Xactimate estimates for water mitigation, mold remediation, fire damage, contents cleaning, demolition, and reconstruction projects
Review project photos, measurements, moisture logs, documentation, and work scopes
Prepare estimates that accurately reflect the work performed and the work required
Submit estimates, supplements, and supporting documentation to insurance companies
Communicate and negotiate with insurance adjusters regarding pricing, scope, supplements, and claim-related questions
Prepare supplements when additional damage or work is discovered
Follow up with adjusters and insurance companies to help move claims forward
Maintain clear and professional communication with homeowners, property managers, adjusters, project managers, and company leadership
Keep accurate records of estimate revisions, communications, approvals, and outstanding items
Enter and maintain accurate project information within Albi, our company CRM
Use Albi to help track job progress, documents, communications, estimates, approvals, and outstanding claim items
Work closely with the production and project management teams to ensure estimates match actual job conditions
Assist with field labor when needed

Field Labor Expectations

This is primarily an estimating position; however, we are a small, team-oriented company, and all employees are expected to help where needed.

Occasional field assistance may include:

Water extraction and water-loss setup

Moving and setting drying equipment
Fire and smoke cleaning
Demolition and debris removal
Contents handling
General job-site assistance
Other duties assigned by management

Candidates must be willing and physically able to assist in the field when company needs require it.

Qualifications

Strong proficiency with Xactimate is required

Experience writing water mitigation, mold remediation, fire, and reconstruction estimates
Five or more years of restoration estimating experience is preferred
Strong knowledge of insurance restoration procedures and claims documentation
Experience negotiating estimates and supplements with insurance adjusters
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple estimates, claims, deadlines, and follow-ups
Ability to communicate professionally and compassionately with homeowners during stressful situations
Ability to work independently while also contributing as part of a team
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Ability to perform physical labor when needed

Experience using Albi CRM is preferred but not required. Training can be provided to the right candidate.

IICRC certifications, construction experience, and previous restoration field experience are also highly preferred.

Compensation and Schedule

Full-time position
$30–$40 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, and Xactimate proficiency
